2024 Service Update: Changes to Group Activities

Learn about upcoming changes to our group activity fees starting January 1, 2024, and how we're committed to sustaining a vibrant and supportive community together.

As we celebrate the remarkable journey of the past five years, we are excited to emphasise the pivotal role our group-based activities have played in enhancing the lives of NDIS participants. Originating as a means to promote health and wellbeing, these activities have evolved into a vibrant community fostering friendships and lifelong skills.

We wish to communicate a significant update. Starting on January 1, 2024, we are changing the way we charge for our group-based activities in accordance with NDIS rules and guidelines. As we navigate these changes, it is important to note that certain costs associated with these activities, such as venue fees and food and drink, will no longer be covered by the NDIS. See NDIS guidelines here and here.

What does this mean? Unfortunately, a portion of the attendance fee for bowling and basketball will now need to be covered out of pocket. All other group-based activities will continue to be fully covered by your NDIS funding.

The following out-of-pocket attendance fees will apply:

  • Bowling – $14.00 venue fee
  • Basketball – $15.00 venue fee
  • Art group – $2.00 art supplies fee

Additionally, meals will no longer be provided during activities. You are welcome to bring your own food or bring money to purchase food during the activity.

We thank everyone who has joined our activities for their enthusiasm and active participation, which has been the driving force behind the success of our community. We look forward to continuing to create memorable experiences for everyone involved.
