Disability Support Worker

Tasks & responsibilities

Work alongside our clients to support and assist them with all aspects of daily living, community access and social inclusion.

  • Provide a person-centred approach to Client care;
  • Support Clients to meet their individual NDIS goals;
  • Encourage and assist Clients with daily activities, home care, personal care, social inclusion and community access as required;
  • Assist and support Clients to live a more fulfilled and independent life;
  • Focus on the Clients abilities and needs;
  • Attend group activities with Clients and be engaging and supportive;
  • Transport Clients as required;
  • Promote and assist Clients to live an active, healthy and positive lifestyle;
  • Follow all organisational policies and procedures;
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

  • Understand the individual needs of our Clients and be able to use your initiative;
  • Have an understanding of the benefits of exercise and social inclusion/community access for a happier and healthier life;
  • Value your Clients and want to make a genuine and positive difference in their lives, on their terms, not yours;
  • Available to work early morning, day and evening shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Mandatory selection criteria

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • Hold a current unrestricted SA driver’s licence and have access to a reliable car covered by full comprehensive insurance
  • Valid passport or birth certificate

Desirable selection criteria

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or relevant qualifications
  • Experience in Disability Services/Aged Care
  • Mental Health training
  • Experience working with complex disabilities/challenging behaviours

Location

We have clients located in all suburbs of SA, including far North, far South and the Adelaide Hills requiring additional support and we need your help to assist them.
